Despite a challenging environment during the past year and the west Wales winter weather to contend with over recent months – works are progressing well at our site in Gwynfa, Carmarthen on behalf of Pobl Developments. This project to deliver 10 Affordable Homes has utilised innovative Durisol woodcrete ICF blocks. Durisol is manufactured in south Wales from woodcrete (recycled waste wood which is chipped into wood fibre before being bonded together with cement), the pre-insulated units are dry-staked on site then in-filled with concrete. This is therefore a highly environmental form of build. The last blocks and concrete pour were carried out in early Feb, with overall completion programmed for later this spring!
